Bob X completed his first ever large size ( 84" x 48" ) window glass art project for the LEGBA RECORDS shop in midtown Memphis! The window is a replica of a Haitian Voodoo Flag design that honors the spirit god PAPPA LEGBA. The design incorporates seven colors and the vever ( symbolic pattern ) of LEGA, along with candles,a bottle, and a shaker ( instrument ), and also the lettering , which creates a very strong and visible design. The window made his shop much more noticeable and blended right in with the existing area businesses ! LEGBA records sells mostly used and vintage records and 45’s ( remember those ? ), along with selected newer and hard to get releases. Greg Cartwright of the band REIGNING SOUND is the owner, operator and all around musical guru of LEGBA. A grand opening of LEGBA was held on Friday July 19 th and REIGNING SOUND performed to a packed house ! Here's a picture of the LEGBA Records window display.

I enjoyed this project very much and wish Greg and crew the best of luck with Memphis’ newest used record store. Be sure and check out this really cool new shop when in Memphis. The address is LEGBA RECORDS 2152 Young Ave. ( across the street from PIE IN THE SKY pizza and VINTAGE MANIA clothes store ) in the Cooper-Young section of midtown.

EARTHDAY at the Overton Park Shell was held the weekend of APRIL 21 and 22. This was a great event as always with nice weather and crowds both days. Live music and a large vendors area kept the crowds entertained and happy! The BOB X booth was a particulrly busy place with the crowds buying up sculpties, posters, paintings on wood and canvas, and even some hand painted furniture!
